Hunter's Trellis

The trellis at Hunter's Wines is one of our most recognisable features. Positioned at the front of the estate, it was initially planted as Cabernet Sauvignon by Ernie Hunter in the early 1980s. This trellis is significant, symbolising our rich vineyard history and commitment to producing exceptional wines. As you approach our estate, the trellis is a prominent and enduring representation of the passion and dedication infused into every bottle of Hunter's wine.

Visit Olive Grove in Marlborough

Nestled discreetly at the rear of our winery, Hunter's is home to an olive grove. Since its inception in 1996, Jane and Mac have nurtured this special corner of our estate.

We embark on the annual olive harvest each year, carefully hand-picking the fruit. The result is a remarkable estate-grown Olive Oil that can be savoured and purchased at our Shop or Cellar Door during your visit.

Bring your dog and kids to our winery

We gladly accommodate furry friends (dogs) as long as they are under control. We are also a child friendly winery; we have a small playground with high chairs and a toy basket. In addition, we offer a selection of non-alcoholic beverages and beers to cater to every guest's preference.

Native Garden

As you arrive at Hunter's, the presence of indigenous Wairau Plains dryland vegetation immediately catches your attention. Stretching across our half-hectare garden, it is a remarkable and unique backdrop for our winery. Through thoughtful planning and strategic placement of plant species that thrive in different micro-climates, we uphold the principle of 'Right Plant – Right Place,' ensuring the vitality of our plants and a visually stunning presentation.
