The Motorworld Hospice Marlborough Bi-Annual Charity Golf Tournament

The team
The Motorworld Hospice Marlborough Bi-Annual Charity Golf Tournament took place on November 15, 2024, bringing together golfers for a great cause.
Phil Vink, one of our dedicated cellar hands and a trustee of the hospice, took the initiative to form a team for the day. Joining him was sales manager, Simon Mitchell and two of Phil’s long-time golfing friends, officially entering as the "Hunter's" team. Phil also generously contributed some Miru Miru™ from his personal cellar to support the prize pool.
However, a small hiccup arose when their two original teammates had to withdraw at the last minute—RATs! Undeterred, Phil quickly found two excellent replacements: Willie Crosse, who was a grower for Hunter’s some years back, and his partner, Sharon. By 9 a.m. on Friday morning, the team was ready and gathered in the car park of the Blenheim Golf Club.
With perfect weather setting the scene, the team enjoyed a fantastic morning of golf. A few balls were lost along the way, and plenty of laughs were shared, but the real winners of the day were the friendships made, and the vital funds raised for the community hospice.
Adding to the excitement, our team finished third overall on points, and Sharon won one of the major raffle prizes! The event was generously supported by local businesses, and the food and coffee provided by the Rapid Relief Team were exceptional.
Thanks to everyone’s efforts, an incredible $9,291.39 was raised for the Marlborough Hospice—an outstanding result!
