Offshoot Profile

Offshoot Range

Our Offshoot range has a fresh new look, and we thought it was the perfect time to share a little more about what makes these wines special.

We produce three single-vineyard wines under the Hunter’s Offshoot label - Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir. Over many years, our winemaking team has studied each of our vineyard sites in detail, developing a deep understanding of where the finest parcels of fruit are found. Our goal is simple: to grow the best grapes possible and craft the best wines we can.

Offshoot Sauvignon Blanc
Sourced from some of our oldest vines beside the winery on Rapaura Road, this regeneratively farmed vineyard produces Sauvignon Blanc of remarkable aromatic intensity. Its early-ripening nature allows us to highlight vibrant tropical and stone fruit characters while retaining beautiful freshness.

Offshoot Chardonnay
Grown in our Omaka Valley vineyard to the south of the winery, this Chardonnay owes its depth and texture to the clay soils washed down from the Wither Hills. The result is a firm, fleshy wine with great structure and presence.

Offshoot Pinot Noir
Our Waihopai Valley vineyard was purchased with one purpose - to make exceptional Pinot Noir. The clay dominant soils have excellent water holding capacity, requiring little irrigation. The late ripening conditions of the valley allow for slow, even maturation and the development of fine, supple tannins. Perfect for Pinot Noir.
