Jane Hosts an Exclusive Dinner at Otahuna Lodge

On a June evening in the hills above Christchurch, fourteen guests gathered at Otahuna Lodge for a dinner celebrating Hunter’s Wines, one of Marlborough’s oldest family vineyards.
The evening began with MiruMiru™ and canapés before a four-course dinner by Executive Chef Jimmy McIntyre, each course paired with a selection of Hunter’s distinctive vintages. The crayfish, fennel and saffron risotto proved a particular favourite.
Jane, who has visited Otahuna for years, hosted the evening. “An annual visit restores the soul,” she said. “As we drive through the gates and slowly make our way past the beautiful gardens to the Lodge, I can feel the tension go, and know I’m about to be looked after for two days.”
Around the table, former Rapaura Road neighbours, a sculptor and an accountant quickly found common ground. Jane shared stories from her years at Hunter’s, and the evening unfolded as these gatherings often do — slowly, generously and with plenty of laughter.
