Italian Innovation, now at Hunter's

In June, Hunter’s took delivery of a new  Italian-made wine filler for our winery — and, to be honest, there were a few nervous faces when it arrived. 

After travelling by ship from Italy to Nelson Port, the impressive piece of equipment was carefully trucked to the winery, where it was dismantled and installed with great care by our local engineers.

While it might not be the most glamorous piece of winery equipment, it plays an important role in getting our wines safely and consistently into bottle. Modern filling technology can help improve accuracy, efficiency and control throughout the bottling process — all important when it comes to protecting the quality of the wine.

It’s another investment in the future of Hunter’s, combining our traditional winemaking approach with a little Italian engineering — and a lot of care from the team here in Marlborough. We’re looking forward to seeing it settle into its new home and getting to work!
