For our festive edition, we caught up with Mum and Entrepreneur Beck Wadworth, whose effortless, considered approach to entertaining is grounded in a deep connection to Marlborough. Having grown up in the region, Beck shares Hunter’s Wines’ appreciation for thoughtful craftsmanship, family traditions and celebrating life’s moments, big and small. From elevating the everyday with simple styling details to creating a warm, memorable atmosphere at home, Beck shares her top styling tips for making the festive season feel truly special.

1. Create a signature festive scent:

If you don’t have a real Christmas tree to bring that nostalgic pine aroma into your home, a beautiful candle does wonders. I love using pine or forest-inspired scents to set the mood - Jo Malone and Diptyque are always my go-tos. It instantly makes the whole space feel Christmassy and inviting.

2. Add ribbon details:

A simple ribbon can elevate almost anything during the festive season. I love tying bows around candlesticks, the stems of coupes, or even woven through the Christmas tree. Cream, deep green, burgundy and black in velvet, grosgrain or silk add a really refined, layered feel without being over the top.

3. Pick a theme and carry it through:

This year I’ve gone for a silver theme - silver coupes, candlesticks, trays… all in varying heights and proportions to keep the table interesting. Repeating the theme subtly throughout the space, including the tree, makes everything feel considered and cohesive.

4. Elevate your platter presentation:

Beautiful food styling is such an easy way to make the season feel special. I love a checkerboard platter with olives and feta, adding fresh cherries or figs to coupes or cheese boards, or doing something fun yet effortless like crisps topped with crème fraîche, caviar and chives. It feels festive without the fuss.

5. How will you be spending the holidays this year, and why is Hunter’s MiruMiru your go-to for celebrations?

I grew up in Marlborough, so Hunter’s MiruMiru has been part of so many family celebrations over the years. This year we’ll be spending two and a half weeks down in beautiful Marlborough with my family and all the kids. There’s nothing better than being home for the holidays, surrounded by the people I love, with a glass of MiruMiru to mark those little moments.

6. You and Hunter’s both hail from Marlborough – what does that shared connection mean to you?

Marlborough is my favourite place in the world. I wish I could get back more often. Growing up there gave me so many special memories, and it's where we still spend every summer - it's a tradition. It’s where I go to rest, reset, switch off and be with the people who matter most.

It’s also where Isaac and I were married a few years ago - having family and friends travel from all over the world to my slice of paradise made me so proud. For both myself and Hunter’s, Marlborough represents family, connection, and belonging. That shared sense of home makes the partnership feel really special.
