The wine is soft and generous that flows seemingly onto the palate with plum and red fruit characters. Vanilla spice and cherry fruit characters fills the mid palate for a beautiful finish. Smooth tannins complement the dry spice on the palate that accentuate the rich and supple finish. This Pinot Noir is an excellent example of a well-balanced and fruit forward Marlborough Pinot Noir. Drink now and up to 5 years+.

Grapes for this wine were grown on distinguished vineyards in the Southern Valleys sub region of Marlborough. This area is famed for producing rich and structured wines. The fruit was hand harvested and fermented for two weeks before gentle pressing. The resulting wine was aged for 12 months in French oak barrels prior to bottling.

Cameron Douglas MS, The Shout, April 2025

A true ruby-red core with a pink rim and plenty of polish leads to a bouquet of red berry intensity and varietal freshness. Aromas and flavours of dark cherry skin and plum are layered with baking spice and wood smoke, along with a dark earth and dried herb quality that adds complexity and intrigue. Dry and rather delicious on the palate, with texture leading the mouthfeel, followed by red berry fruit flavours and a gentle smoky wood complexity. Well made, with best drinking from 2025 through to 2029.

John Bartlett, NZ Wine Directory, April 2025

Bright translucent raspberry - ruby red in colour to the rim. Aromas of red plums, dark cherries, some savoury earth, mushroom notes and spice in the nose. On the palate, fruit flavours of raspberries, red plums and cherries, baking spices too. Lovely balance with soft silky tannins, a fine acid line & subtle texture from oak all adding character and finesse. The lush fruit finish is dry, complex and memorable. Excellent.

Michael Cooper, March 2025

Offering top value, the bright ruby 2023 vintage was grown in clay soils in the Southern Valleys, hand-picked and matured for a year in French oak barrels. A highly appealing finely textured red, it isperfumed and supple, with cherry, plum and spice flavours, revealing excellent ripeness, balance, complexity and depth. Best drinking 2027+.

Erin Larkin - Wine Advocate, February 2025

The 2023 Pinot Noir is a little reductive upon opening with red cherry and pomegrante, raspberry seed and caper brine. The wine has an atttractive Earl Grey tea/graphite character that I find very attractive. In the mouth, there is a swathe of savoury exotic spices and soft plump fruit along with a shaping of ductile tannins that feel woven into the fabric of the fruit. This is a lovely wine here.

Sam Kim - Wine Orbit, October 2024

Sweet fruited with attractive complexity, the wine shows ripe cherry, dried mushroom, warm spice and toasted nut characters. The palate displays succulent fruit flavours with supple texture and finely infused tannins, finishing long and silky. At it best: now to 2029.
