Hunter’s MiruMiru™ Rosé NV

The Real Review, Bob Campbell (Jan 2020)

95 Points, Gold Medal

Mid-pink colour. A classic blend of pinot noir, chardonnay and pinot meunier. Bottle-fermented and aged on the lees for 36 months. Crushed strawberry and cherry flavours with some bread crust yeast autolysis characters. A beautifully poised wine – refreshing and flavoursome.

Hunter’s Pinot Noir Rose

NZ Wine Magazine, Simon Nash, Matt Kirby, Barry Riwai (Jan 2020)

Nice lipstick pink, bright nice nose, dry vinous and nice balance. Off dry with good juice grip. Long flavour. Some light tones, quite lifted aromas, blood orange and good balance. Closed nose, some reduction. Purely textural palate dry and lean, but neutral. Reduction gives focus to the palate. Palest pink.

Hunter’s Sauvignon Blanc 2019

Michael Cooper (Feb 2020)

4 Stars

Hunters fame rests on this wine. The goal is a strong expression of Marlborough fruit - a bell - clear wine with a mix of tropical and searing gooseberry characters. The grapes are sourced from numerous sites in the Wairau Valley, and to retain their fresh, vibrant characters they are processed quickly, with some use of indigenous yeasts and lees- aging. This wine is usually at its best between one and two years old. The 2019 vintage (4*) was mostly handled in tanks, but a small percentage of the blend was barrel - fermented. Mouth filling and vibrantly fruity, its a tightly structured wine, with youthful, ripely herbaceous flavours, showing a distinct touch of complexity, and a crisp, dry, lingering finish. Best drinking mid 2020+
