Awards

5 STARS & 93/100 - Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, March 2015
“This is a fabulous dry example; the delicately fragrant bouquet shows white stone fruit, lemon peel, red apple and floral characters, leading to a taut and linear palate that offers fine texture and excellent fruit concentration. The wine is focused and brilliantly structured, while exhibiting plenty of delightful flavours.”
GOLD - New Zealand International Wine Show 2015
GOLD - Marlborough Wine Show 2014
RECOMMENDED – Yvonne Lorkin, Canvas Magazine, NZ Herald, ‘Our favourite Marlborough Wines’, 19 June 2015 “It's easy to become a riesling recruit without sending your wallet sideways. You'll find yourself ticking boxes all over the show. Green apple, check. Lime, check. Lemon verbena, check. Raindrops on hot rocks, check. Long, lean, stylish and elegant, if there were such a thing as riesling royalty in Marlborough, the Hunter's household would be the full polo team. Sniff, sip, savour.” SILVER - International Aromatic Wine Competition 2014
4 STARS - Raymond Chan, raymondchanwinereviews.co.nz, March 2015
“Very pale straw-colour with slight green hues, very pale on rim. The nose is refined and initially shy in expression showing pure lime and lemon fruit aromas along with white florals and mineral clarity. This is all subtlety and finesse. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate features a tight core of focussed lime and lemon fruit flavours. Subtle white floral detail is present, along with mouthwatering mineral notes. The wine is fresh, bright and lively with lacy acidity lending excellent tension and energy, and providing linearity for the fine textures to follow and carry to a refined, delicately nuanced finish. This is a tightly bound, refined, pure and dry Riesling with mouthwatering linearity. Serve as an aperitif, and with seafood over the next 4-5+ years.”
4 STARS – Winestate, July/August 2015
“Fleshy, dry style (2 grams/litre residual sugar) but not at all austere, with citrusy, slightly spicy flavours, lively but not high acidity, and lots of drink-young appeal.”
